    Where is that and why is it allegedly any better ?

    It's a torsion shaft, so absorbs sudden shock loading by twisting slightly.

    Rather than a solid one, which could snap.

        Not that I can see, as the wider 1st gear needs a cut out in the casing that the early boxes just don't have.

        Also, doesn't the torsion sharf lessen the damage to the teeth by absorbing some of the impact, which I suspect is more important than the anti-snapping thang.

        So, WHO HAS A BOX FOR ME???????

        Cheers n tears

            I'll have to dig out the reference from the forum

              My figures say the change was at 43795 but it's neither here nor there. Basically the later CGR boxes are the same as the CRB boxes.

              @Si,

              Have you forgotton the deal I offered you last year? If my gearbox fits the bill I'm still willing to do a straight swap if you can find me the box I want (and it's not a DSY anymore )

                DOH! Must have been drunk at Billing as this is only vaguely stirring the odd brain cell. Send me a PM with the details and I'll start hunting one down

                Cheers n
