    Wanted: Engine Mounts

I ordered some engine mounts from VAGparts off of their website and the ones that turned up were for an ABY. No real problem as I know I could get these replaced for the correct 3B ones.

I rang Martyn at VAGparts and just as I previously thought he said he would replace them no problem. However, once he searched for the part numbers both he and I were horrified to discover that 3B engine mounts have been discontinued as from August 2007 and there are no replacements for them.

    Balls!

Does anyone have brand new OEM ones up for sale? Obviously there are after market ones available but I don't fancy the idea of these 034 ones people keep talking about that means you can feel all vibration from the engine through the steering wheel.

    Any thoughts/opinions/ideas?

Your alright with the 3B ones from 034 you can get the street density mounts which are ok for comfort and not the motorsport ones which are the teeth rattlers

Give Pete a try first, just because they are NLA from Audi doesn't mean that Pete can't get them! I bet they'll be cheaper than 034 too with the exchange rate as it is.

Instead of that post you could have PM'd him telling him he has stock as per your right as a sponsor.

                        Anyway.....

As David (S2driver) recently overhauled his 3B I sent him a message asking him what mounts he had on his car. To cut a long story short he told me to get in contact with Pete which I had every intention of doing but not everything is exactly plain sailing for me at the moment.

I shall give you a call on Monday, if however there is a way of ordering the parts I'm after via e-mail then please do drop me a PM and we'll go from there.

Robatron I just dealt with Pete, done the ordering via email but had to call him to make the payment. Have to say what a top service, emails answered quickly, had what I wanted in stock (didnt expect that), better prices than anywhere else I tried and delivered the next day. I am absolutely delighted with the service.

phil payne's a well known member of the ur quattro circle as he did a good write up on the purchsing and what to watch out for on urq's and is on a few sites.

but can be a bit ott from what i've seen/heard of him.
