Hmmm I thought that it also has a twisted intercooler and bent wheels. that and the fact that it has has been immobile since you got it still the paint job is nice and I hear you're sorting it out this weekend so good luck and I hope the dogwagon passed the mot

Thanks rotoryboy saw that one on ebay but the mileage is a bit high and it's 160 miles from home! You do have to wonder about the seller posting upside down photo's as well!

madwolf_Uk, is your S2 anywhere near being road worthy? From what I read it looks like it's in pieces. How far from being complete is it?

That's a local one to me, i dont think it's a private plate, seen that car around for years, although about 8 years ago going back to my school days, if memory serves me correct it had a private plate on it.

Was talking about this with fitzy the other night, its missing the trim around the opening rear windows which would be a right pita to get, all scuff on the rear bumper, apart from that looks quite nice

I am looking for an S2 preferably in the London/M40 corridor area, I'm willing to travel for the right car though.

My ideal car would be:

1996 Audi S2
Uprated brakes
Chipped
No other mods preferred
100k ish miles
Estate or Coupe
Not green
Leather interior

If you have one or know of one that's for sale or could be please let me know. My specs above are just ideals, I will consider anything at the right price! I'm keeping my eye on autotrader, pistonheads & ebay, if you know of another good site please let me know.

Haha, thought this might raise a few questions!

My dad has had a few green cars that have been cursed so not being overly superstitious but not wanting to take a chance I'd rather it wasn't green.

Although if a good deal came up on a green one I'd have to reconsider!

Not going too well in my search.

Went and saw one this weekend which looked good until it started consistently loosing power when accelerating over about 50 mph!

The mtm one I linked to above has been T-boned.

So still looking...

I've decided I'd prefer an Avant but I'll definitely consider a nice coupe.

Anyone else got one they want to part with?

Boost leak or coil pack by the sounds of things, losingpower over 5k suggests spark to me.

Yep you're mad. S3's have no soul, no cult following and are not "real" quattro.

Drive both and you will know.

S3's are not bad cars, but different.

S2 is the stealthy, enthusiasts choice.
