I only paid £400 inc delivery for my RS2 turbo and that was fully reconditioned just before i bought it.

May also be worth hunting on some other forums as there may be people that want to get shot of one that are not on here.
That's been my advice! Andy has decided on a route, the project is progressing nicely and unless getting it completed for the 'ring is an absolute priority then I don't think it's worth paying a grand for a new RS2 turbo! If thats the case may as well go the whole hog and do a more exotic turbo...

Just hang in there, the fact 4 slipped through your fingers in the last 2 months shows they still come up from time to time.

The aim has been to get everything up until the engine rebuild completed for the 'ring - for obvious reasons.

But the "Project: RS2 ABY" isnt much good without an RS2 turbo

The 'ring deadline isnt so strict that id pay £1k for a new RS2 turbo, infact if i had to i wouldnt, id go down another route such as the 2871.

I guess its a waiting game. Just frustrating to have everything pretty much sorted besides the one thing that makes the project, and to have had a turbo in my hands which got sent back

            TD want £1298.28 +VAT for a new RS2 turbo

I also asked about a 360 bearing, apparantley "they are not available with 360 thrust and they cannot be fitted to them."

So i mentioned that i knew people on here had them and the reply was "unless someone is making there own then the people claiming to have them would find out once the turbo has been stripped that they still have 270 thrusts."

AET then. TD were good when I spoke to them about the k24 but seems they've done themselves out of a sale there.

AET with the 360deg bearing and some teaking should be spot on.

TD = expensive for what they produce, they have one good S2 turbo but at £1500 plus vat you gotta be serious to use it! DJones I commend you!

A related question....if you were to acquire an RS2 turbo, is it worth having it modded to a 360 bearing and if so, who would you have it done by and what would be the estimated costs?

                          Cheers n

Only if the turbo needed a refurb anyway.

The cost is about that of the turbo in the first place, you'd ideally want to pick one up that had just been refurbed as it would be like new with the 360 bearing, with a slightly premium price.

I know that AET can do it, not sure who else or who people have used.

Damn, thought so. I have a new RS2 turbo so it does not need a refurb, but I like the idea of having the 360 degree bearings fitted

                              Cheers n

Replacing the bearing by itself is not that much, it's if the other parts need doing at the same time.
