Known good unit wanted, I just fitted a second "reconditioned" unit and it spat its dummy within 30 seconds. Oil pishing out the bottom..

i think its an age thing to be honest,and people thinking they are simple to rebuild and get in a right mess,my advice is leave it to the experts

Cheers guys, there was a possible problem with a damaged thread on one of the X bungs, that was changed which stopped the big leak, it was then still weeping from the 2 small brass plugs so I changed the tiny o rings on those and it seems like it's finally cured, both the small o rings were eaten away as if by acid.. Think I'll get a spare anyway..

I had a long experience with so called re-con pumps. Wont go into it, but its documented on here. Ultimately, really cheap orings (looked as if eaten away sounds familiar!) and filled full of red fluid meant numerous failures before i rebuilt my own with audi seals and fluid and shes peachy!!!
