Problem now solved - as advised above, I just resoldered the ribbon connector and now everything works perfectly. I couldn't actually see anything wrong with the existing soldering with the naked eye, but redid each connection anyway and now it all works.

    Thanks for all the help

I'm going to be doing this on the RS2 so I'm ready for summer.

My symptoms are as described, intermitent working of cc buttons.

I've never touched a soldering iron, so will be getting my electrician mate to have a dabble.

On the Audi world how to, it mentions applying fresh solder to the circled contact points.

How much solder should be applyed?

Has anyone done this recently that could shed some light?

        Cheers.

I didn't add any solder, just heated and re-flowed the existing solder. If you add more you risk too much solder on the joint bridging a gap across 2 pcb connections. Not good. It fixed it fine anyhow, worked perfectly ever since.

Thanks for that, good info. I'll relay that to my electrician mate, and hopefully I'll get the same result you got.

            Cheers.
