Yes definitely, it's not a massive change but the breaking is definitely more balanced now with 996 fronts. Before with just the 996s up front the bias was quite obvious as the front dived down under hard breaking. I'd say now it has a nice balance, the front still dips under breaking but nowhere near as much as before.

Would love to have this set up at the rear but, this aint a pure track car. And after a completed restoration i have to show the car to the Norwegian authorities to get the licence plates, and they would not be impressed with Porche calipers with now emergency brake function. Therefore i`m looking for just original Audi parts...

I think that I had somewhere one set of rear S8 calipers
If you got the S8 rear calipers in working condition, i`m interested!
If i understand you correct i can use either s8 discs(280x22mm) or S4 b7(300mmx22mm)? Both bolts on S2 coupe?

          Best regards.
          Stian.

mate, you can install porsch 996 rears with John B brembo hand brake caliper¡¡

and the norwegian guys will be happy to give you your license plates

my car is not also a track car...and i am sure the car is better balanced with 996´s than S8´s...

The S8 disc has the wrong hat height so don't get them.

The b7(300mmx22mm) discs are the ones you need. They have the correct hat height, you just have to have the discs machined down to 280mm.

I've recently done this conversion so let me know if you have any questions. As Rocco says though there's always the Porsche rear option too.

Quattro corner can supply the S8 carriers that you need if you can't find them anywhere else at a reasonable rate. If you can't find anywhere to machine down the discs let me know as I could get another set done quite easily and cheaply.

Looks like the S8 rears that Nik0las has for sale are the ones you need, have just seen his ebay listing: S8 Brakes
