My Father is seriously considering getting an RS2 at some point in the next year, he's even more fussy than me but isn't quite as hands on so it needs to be a car that has been meticulously maintained with history to prove. I wouldn't want him to be put off owning one by a succession of silly little problems like minor boost leaks, duff coil packs, dying cam position sensors etc. It needs to be right and ready to go, condition is way more important than price or mileage, he's looking to keep it long term as an investment and now is the time to buy IMO.
There a couple on Piston heads but I doubt very much any of them will be up to scratch based on their asking price. Again, if I go with him to check one out I don't want him to be put off by viewing a poor example first time.
Absolutely must be an original UK RHD car and not Cat C or D repaired. Non original paint is acceptable as long as it's been done to a very high standard, they are nearly 20 years old after all.
So what's hiding out there I could use to whet his appetite?
He has one of the best (if not the best) Volvo 1800 ES estates in the UK at the moment which must go first if anyone is interested.

, I did try and steer him towards the RS2, but once mother had given the green light to the newer RS idea there was no stopping him!
