Wanted : RS2 ECU - Plug and play

Hiya,

I've had issues with my RS2 ever since I've owned it.

Multiple tests and visits to the workshop have narrowed it down (or at least raised a flag) to the ECU.

It was sent away and the report back was that it's damaged and requires replacing.

I have 2 options. Go aftermarket and get a mappable ECU (the + is that I'll get a nice custom map that will be better than stock) or a replacement ECU unit that will plug straight into my car.

My car is a 94 non immobilised vehicle. Does anyone have any good contacts for complete units?

I'd want something that I can just plug in rather than have to open up and swap chips etc.

You could buy a standard second hand S2 or UrS4/6 Motronic ECU and send it to Dmitri (PRJ on here) he would convert it to RS2 + spec and send it back. In fact he might have one in stock already he could sell you. Worth a PM to find out
Also worth asking if he could repair yours.

Thanks Dmitri has helped me in the past (actually spoke to the workshop and helped them out). He said he'd send me a ECU a while back but that seems to have gone cold. Its possible I've annoyed \ offended him as I no longer get responses from him.

Yes,he must be very busy,I can't get any reply from him so I would be looking just for plug and play Ecu if you need your car back on the road quickly.

The car still runs with the current ECU , it just doesn't boost and runs really rich.

I can hear the waste gate, so something is happening, it just never kicks in. Prior to this it would boost on WOT (and dump a bit of black smoke out the back) but now it's not even doing this.

I'm getting a quote on a mappable ECU and tune as that maybe better in the long run (and if nothing turns up here).

Think I have one spare ABY/AAN ECU that is on RS2 spec here. If that's of interest then I will seek it out - pretty sure it's in the attic somewhere.

Thanks! I'll let you know. I got in contact with PJR and he was going to sort something out over the weekend. I'll give him a few more days then see how he's getting on.
