  • 3B ECU Modification

I am looking for advice on how to proceed if I want to upgrade the ECU on my S2 3B ECU?

What do you mean by upgrade?

I mean chipping or possibly changing to coils versus a distributor. Looking for a little more horsepower.

By only upgrading the distributor to coils, you won't get any single HP more out of your engine.
The problem at 3B's ECU ist the 200 kPa MAP-Sensor. Without changing it, you are extremely limited.

What's involved in making that change?

You have to solder in a MAP sensor from ABY's ECU (250 kPa = 1.5 bar above atmosphere).
It's the black "box" with the hose.
After that you can change your EEPROM's ("chips") and get 260 - 280 HP out of it, depending on which software you buy (software for ABY or ADU doesn't work without changing some other hardware!!)

Software for ABY/ADU won't work without changing the ECU lol.

And ECU is also part of the hardware
I just wanted him to know, that he can't use ABY/ADU software just because of changing the MAP Sensor.

Can I use any aftermarket chips? 034 or 2 Bennett?

You won't find any OEM tuning EEPROM's for the old Audi's, except (semi original) SMS Revo software
