Will move this to another thread, I understand why you want this one focused on the new MAF R&D.

Common myth, the screen does not make any significant difference.
I have debunked that autospeed article time and time again.

The pressure drop they measure is 29.6 INCHES OF WATER at 7000 rpm with screens attached and 24.8 with them removed.
That's a difference of 4.8 inches of water or in other words 0.012 bar.

Yes, that's 0.01 bar difference between the screens on and off. Their change in power figures is just because the MAF read completely wrong and probably the ECU over advanced the timing.

So please, no more talk about these screens and this 0.01 uber difference in this thread.
There is no practical difference whatsoever between these MAF's. Hell, there is less than 0.1 bar pressure drop (0.07 bar) through the entire intake of these cars at 7000 RPM.
I'd say Audi has done a very good job designing the intake system.

This report claims the screens do restrict flow. It's a good read. This is linked to inlet hose collapse on turbo upgrades also.http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Elimi...9/article.html

Umm.. they do, actually. Check out the classic and most excellent negative boost series that Julian Edgar over at Autospeed did back in the day:

Check the entire series of negative boost articles. Very interesting info about the almost non existent pressure drop over the filter, etc.

First it is going to the USA for calibration.
We are also going to try to prototype some 6-pin MAF plugs to make this plug and play, but no promises yet

When you can buy... expect early Q4 release I'd say.

Just want to add how interesting reading this entire post has been (took me half an hour) and how grateful we should be to Prj and those working with him for doing such extensive R&D without intentions to make excessive profits from it. I'm interested in this kit over the next few months as have some erratic idling going on and a mixture adaptation code that won't go away so MAF is a possible culprit. Keep up the good work, we need you :-)
