Looms have been available commercially since April 2006 following my DIY instructions posted in Oct. 2005. 034, Apikol and EFI Express all have looms that work with the 4 pin, internal POS, coil packs used on the 1.8ts, 2.0TFSI, 4.2L V8, RS4, etc.

A complete kit, including 5 coil packs from Apikol is around US$360

Its a medium sized pain - not a total ballache but not fun either.

Also the coils fit nice in the aby cover recess

I think coils are best sourced locally in case of any warranty problems.
I can do between 150 and 175 GBP for a loom. It depends on application - all are custom made and for example the ABY one is slightly different than AAN IIRC, not to mention we do one for 3B -> ABY conversions).

Advantage is no customs, because it's made in EU, and we use the most expensive wires, and tape, plus all the right grommets.
All the materials are specified for use in the engine bay.
