    Cat is out of the bag huh.

    I'll make an announcement when I have time.

    The hardware schematics are finalized, the board needs to be designed and I am manufacturing a prototype soon, then work can start on the software.

    Basemaps - yes.

    What was omitted from the posted feature list, was stuff like built-in direct ethanol sensor support, wideband / egt control, 4 bank map switching, possibilities to add logging and safeguards for oil temperature/oil pressure/fuel pressure and so on.

    The price point is about right 750-800$. The components to make a board that fits into the ECU and can emulate both the fuel and the boost chip at the same time in full realtime are very expensive. And I would not settle for anything less. Flashing? Give me a break.

    Let's put it that way, I don't have any expectations to get "rich" off of doing this, and I've been working on the concept for quite a few of my weekends now... but I just will never have time to tune every single 2.2T out there, and if I can put all my knowledge into an easy accessible package then I have succeeded in my goals.

    As for standalone ECU's. There are a few concrete limitations in this ECU and I will be upfront and honest about that right away. But it's not really anything people under 1200hp have to worry about. It still should be the most cost effective and solid way to tune anything up to 1000hp.

    What Marc is talking about?

    I may or may not know about an add-in board for motronic in the works that will allow realtime tuning, map select, additional analog inputs. basically what the ripchip should have been, made from scratch for the AAN ecu. it'll be a while, though...
    injector offset and voltage compensation
    lambda target table
    timing vs load
    fuel vs load
    MAF linearization
    spark dwell
    rev limit
    load cut
    launch control
    no lift shift
    boost control (target MAP and base n75 duty cycle)
    speed density support
    high speed realtime datalogging
    real time map editing
    map-select
    usb connectivity for map loading
    tunerpro software interface to the mapping

    what the rip chip wishes it was....
    yeah injector scaling of course.
    Sounds very interesting, especially if it comes in under VEMS price point! Would you be able to buy it pre loaded with a base map so it could be driven to a tuner?

    Easy to figure out with assembler. Sorry I have no interest in giving any more info.

    Sound very small.

    In other motronic i saw some load factor table, rpm vs tps, which can be manipulate to adjust AFR. I dont know if there is also somewhere,not search for it yet. Or some baro correction, iat/engine temp corrections but i know it is not right way to do.
    So you still mean some other constant then i noted in prevousion post, ok?

    I've not hit a limit size yet.

    But there is a constant that you have to change with bigger ones apart from what you listed.

    I compared rev limiter on 551B against 551C, and probably just last 6. revlimiter value is used. Not tested it real time, yet.

    Can anyone have experience how large injectors can be adjusted throught motronic(throught fgat,tvub and fuel map lowering)? I can have 1700cc ones , run on E85 (i mean stoich AFR on idle, low loads, still oem lambda correction)?

    Oh almost forgot this too! Here is exactly what you have to change in the binary in your 551AA boost chip to disable the checksum so that you can live tune your ECU with an emulator and not get fault codes.

    track down hex offset 0xB0F starting there the code will look like this.
    Code:
    79 E7 E7 D2 E6 F7
    once you have located that just simply make it
    Code:
    00 00 00 00 00 00
    Once that is done save the BIN file and your all set! no more worrying about correcting the checksum.

    This is the same in all other AAN and RS2 boost chips although the code is in a different offset than the 551AA. through a little binary comparison using HEXCMP 2 you can easily locate that line and modify your own binary. Also you can create a patch in your tuner pro XDF file and let tuner pro handle the binary modification for you.

    Here's a stock copy of the 551AA stock boost chip BIN file with the checksum already disabled.

    im a day late and a dollar short but i finally have the rev limiter figured out.

    i'll just keep plugging away and i'll get it all eventually.

    to start the rev limiter address in the 551AA ECU 0x8373
    the rev limiter fault code is at 0x8375

    the equation to that needs plugged into tunerpro for the rev limiter is
    Code:
    7499440/(X*pow(2;3))
    The equation for the rev limiter fault code is a little different.
    Code:
    7499440/(X*pow(2;2))

    now that one is out of the way there is the 551C AAN ECU and the RS2 ECU that actually had 6 rev limiter and one for the fault code.

    for them ECU's the rev limiter is at the following hex offsets.
    1=0xA38C
    2=0xA38E
    3=0xA390
    4=0xA392
    5=0xA394
    6=0xA396

    The rev limiter fault code is right after the rev limiters at 0xA397

    to calculate the rev limiter's you need to make individual scalars for each one.
    the equation to calculate the rev limiter for tuner pro is
    Code:
    11873400/X
    dont forget to set the size to 16 bit and tick the LSB first box.

    for the rev limiter fault code you need to do the same less tick the LBS first box.

    and thats how you adjust the rev limiter in your stock motronic ECU gentleman!

    fuel cut

    I have AAN engine with K26 turbo, ECU is from RS2(8A0907551B sw:358289)
    I m running higher boost cca 1.5 bar, but i have alway by 6000 rpm fuel cut.
    I think this is caused with too much air flow.
    I have tried to modify the load limits at 8CD9 and 8CF4 but with no progress.
    Is there some other map limiting the load?
    Please help me ! Thanks.

    Thanks for the hint

    I have forgotten a thing which I knew already...R2 is incremented with a map access. So it reads the assumed map with R2=1 after the first map access.

    Bye

    TVUB is there just before FGAT0 (second map read before FGAT0). Goes to RAM_6F after the map access routine. At least in 551C adu.

    I was hunting TVUB today...

    I think it's a map (2D 5x1 voltage dependant)

    I have seen such a map (f.e. 0x8ce4 for 551aa), which would fit and is also different between aan and adu. But i can't find where it is accessed in the code (no ram75/76 77/78 r2 combination fits...)

    Anyone can help me?

    Regards
