  • Vems V3 AAN P&P - Injector 4 not working.

    Hi,

i've just swapped my aan with VEMS from my s4 91' to my S2 94'
Everything seems to work fine, except injector 4. This is connected to pin 35 (motronic in s2).

I've searched some around but i can't seem to find a vems pinout to motronic pinout.
If anyone got a tip on how to go from here i would really appreciate it.

Not what you are looking for exactly but here is the AAN ECU pin-out:

Is the inputs and outputs setup correctly in vems?

I hope so. The setup worked fine in the S4 for a long time (and still working when it came out of the car)

I'm not near my vems so can't help. Have you confirmed with a led that you get a pulse at the connector?

I pulled the fuel rail out and tried to start the car. 1-3 & 5 spray fuel, number 4 injector has no spray what so ever. Even tried to swap injector without no luck. I checked the wiring from ECU to injector and wiring seems ok.

Is there also 12v on the pin not going to the ecu?

The other pin on injector has 12v yes.

Then it seems the ecu isn't producing the pulse. Could an output of been damaged due to a bad wire or something?

Don't think that should be a problem. There has not been any modification to the wiring loom what so ever. Is there any neat way to test these outputs? Could there be an easy fix to swap the injector 4 output to another?

If you have a spare output you could change the wireing and vems to do that. Or swap 2 injector outputs to test?

Thanks. I could try to swap two injectors to see if it fix the problem. I should manage to use a switch for the fuel pump if the output for injector 4 is faulty. But can't really understand why it should be a problem. It worked when i pulled it out of the s4 and everything has been stored inside and dry.

                          Thanks for all the help.

You're in denial and it is hindering you from finding the solution. Stuff happens, and while there is a reason, you will just waste time trying to figure out why it happened. Just focus on dianosing the problem and fixing it.

my vems settings are the same as yours
is this vems a plug&play version?
pin 35 is correct for injector 4
run the engine and put a led on the injector plug to see if you get any impulse
if not, disamble injector plug nr 4 and the main plug on your ecu and measure with a multimeter ohm trough the wire, this should be around 0.00 ohm,if not, than you have a wire cut somewhere
also important,if you use vems on a AAN-ABY engine you need to switch 2 wires on the crank sensor plug but the engine runs so probably you have done this
