    is there a difference?

Hi i have been looking around now for some porsche 996 calipers. i have found some porsche boxster s calipers are these the same? i was under the impression they were the same. if they are different are they difficult to put on A S2 with 16'' wheels. Are all the carriers and discs the same as if i were doing the 996 caliper conversion? Also what are the part numbers for the front 996 calipers. Thank you for your help

The 996 Callipers differ from the Boxster S ones in the fact they are a different colour.

Exactly the same part number on the casting.
The 'full' part number is the one on the casting suffixed with a 2 digit code to signify the colour.

          996 C2 have black
          996 C4 have silver
          Boxster S have red

so i could still use the boxster red calipers with the a8 discs and rs2 or seat carries. I take it when u lot say about big reds u are talking about the boxster s calipers

sorry only skimmed through earlier. after reading through thoroughly i think this statment confirms they will fit.
The calipers used hare are 996 items from a non-turbo'd car.
They are available on the front of 996 carrera 2 in black,
on 996 carrera 4 (four wheel drive carrera) in silver,
and also on the 986 boxster 's' in red.
would i be correct in thinking this? i need reassurance i dont trust my own judgement . thanks for the help
