    996 - S4/S6 Brackets

    Hi all,
Anyone got any experience or ideas on what brackets are made to fit my 996 calipers with 323mm X 30mm discs to my S6 (Currently HP2 setup). I understand the calipers were originaly designed for 28mm discs and the pins will need grinding a bit. I originaly asked MBT if they had brackets that would work and they said yer no prob use the MBT141's then as soon as I mention I'm using 323mm discs they say no won't fit? I'm getting a bit sick as this is the last piece of the jigsaw and the calipers have been sat by my PC for months now
If after all this their is'nt any brackets available, I will look at getting some manufactured, then the question is has anyone got any advice on the material I should use?

Cheers in advance for your help

    Ben

Any idea what the mounting hole dimensions are on the S6 hubs (carrier to hub) Ben?
I'm thinking I may be able to mod a set of Seats to suit at work.
If work pull me about it, I'll just say I'm working on a brembo caliper set-up for the new micra cabby

Nice excuse Jas You could probably get a Micra to endo with Brembo 4 pots
Your thinking along the same lines as Bry, as he's mentioned modding Seat brackets. I'm gonna have to get dirty and remove my HP2's to check out the dimensions. I'll let you know how it goes. I've been trying to get my head round the fact that Seat brackets are intended for trailing calipers and the fact that mine are leading should make no difference should it?

      Cheers

Nah mate, carrier shouldn't be effected by orientation especially as we will be modding it.
Can you not just whip the wheel off and get round the back of the caliper to measure the hole spacing on the S6 hub?

I have the dimensions if your interested? I have done 2 S6 Mono conversions. 1 with 340 A8 discs the other with the 323's.

You will also need to swap the crossover pipes over as they need to be a leading caliper rather than a trailing as on the Porsche.

See here for a brief how to

          PM if interested?
