I made a note of 4E0 615 301A. A pair came up recently on ebay and i rember checking them out. They were regular disc although they look pretty distinctive!
I have just typed that number into Google(without spaces) and it comes up with an Audi site!
Do a search for "996 GT3 Four pot caliper brake upgrade" You will find pics of me fitting my GT3 calipers with custom mounts and a8 324-30 disks which work a treat. They have covered 12'000 miles now and not missed a beat. You need to make sure that when designing your custom carriers that there is an even gap either side of the disk from the caliper and the gap is not all on one side otherwise this could cause probs. Any questions just ask.
Ben can you source the Lambo/Audi 8 pot calipers + discs ?
Indeed I can. The Audi version that is NOT the Lambo ones. Although the calipers are the same anyway. You will need deep pockets for these brakes even at my prices.
If you've got really, really deep pockets (and 19" rims) you could have the 385x36mm Audi Ceramic option. It'll set you back around £7800 at my prices though
Ben
the best intentions are fraught with disappointment - gil grissom

Just be careful when the pads are getting down to their wear limits.
It's not that that is the problem, potentially you are taking the pistons past their limits and if you allowed the pads to wear beyond their mimimum thickness you "could in etxremes" pop the pistons out. Which I would not recommend
