Is the S2 coupe as tight? Or better? Anyone know?

S2 coupe with 280mmx22mm modified disc set-up with stock HB cable (not tight):
      - this is the most low cost upgrade that I know
      - needs some tuning at the caliper or rubbing the pad if needed with sand paper
      - with A8/S8 alu caliper more expensive but no sand paper work
      - A3 disc needs drilling the 112/5 + the center hole adjustment
      - carriers need small shims to center the disc between carriers
      - disc area for pad is OK

      Comaparison to the S2 Avant/Sedan (256x22mm from older A3):
      - the bigger the disc the tighter the hand brake cable routing will be
      - making the disc 280mm the cable needs to be 1,75cm longer than stock
      - picture has 0,5cm overtight cable, but it still works
      - disc area for pad is slightly narrow and pad goes over the rubbing area down below
      (works but not perfect)
      - can be done perfect but then needs to be done from later A3 280x22 disc ---> 256x22

Isn't there any specialist offering a ready to use kit (with or without discs, calipers and pads)? So you dont'have to make brackets or shims yourself and you just plug and play...

Sal's AP / QTS brakes are on the way, they will do the job I guess. But it would be nice to see some 300 mm brakes (with small AP calipers?) at the rear, just like to rally cars!

The '8E0' rear upgrade bolts straight onto S2 Coupe - only damn issue is the handbrake cable which I haven't had time to solve.

The S2 Avant & Sedan rear handbrake looks like it would be perfect with the 8E0 rear upgrade - to be verified soon by someone on the forum real soon.

That 8E0 upgrade is 300x22mm - the carriers, discs and calipers bolt up perfectly. There is lots of info about it - do a forum search !

Yes I did founds some info on possible rearbrake conversion. But since I can't do them my self, I have to ask a befriended mechanic. And he will mount them for me (just like the AP) but he will not fettle with grinding and/or other modifications... But if it comes down to just fitting all the parts including adapters and ready solutions for the HB cable, no problem. The size 300 x 22 mm is impressive and would match the AP front looks!
