Has anyone used either the EBC greenstuff or redstuff brake pads on their S2 or RS2?
Just looking for brake pads at the moment and they say that they don't create as much dust and increase the stopping power due to the compound. Don't know how true this is though.
i have redstuff in my front brakes at the moment i think it does stop the dust a bit not sure about stopping performance as it's been a couple months since i have driven the car due to a oops last year. if i remember after a couple heavy brakes they start to get noisy under braking at high speeds.hope this helps a bit
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed
Never tried EBC pads of any colour/flavour, as the words of wisdom years ago suggested that they should be avoided like the plague.
I currently run the Textars in the monoblocks, as they are good enough for Porsche, but I agree that the Ferodo DS2500 are probably about the best pads on the market.
The pads we used to use 20 years ago on classic rally cars were either Ferodo of Mintex.....often wondered whether it is worth trying a set of Mintex pads with the Porsche monoblocks, but to be honest, the Textars survived some VERY late braking on the track (it was the only was to get past Matt and Ben in the Dag Dag) so I will prolly just stick with Textars.
Also Textars are about 1/3 the cost of Ferodo

95 ABY S2 Coupe - Ragusa Green Subtle mods here and there

1000 miles? Blimey, they did well. Did you use them when you were running your engine in?
I agree, Ferodo DS2500s. Used them on the S3 and the A3. Supurb bite and stopping power, and they last.
Currently have red stuff on my s2 running with black diamond 12 grove disks. a little slow to heat up but no problems with stopping after that. Get some noise if stopping form great speed though due to grooves and hard pads. Warped set of brake discs some months ago maybe due to heat soak from pads. Will let you know if that is confirmed with the new set.
I had EBC green's on my RS2 when I bought it. They were absolutely rubbish IMHO.
Really disapointing. Poor when cold - way below OEM standard. Even when warmed up they were nothing special. They lasted 4x 10 minute track sessions - with proper cooling laps to boot - before crumbling to dust.
I think OEM is certainly better for the road. For fast road/track, i've only tried Pagid RS29 which are great but they squeel from time to time. Ferodo 2500 seem to have a good rep here and on other forum but have not yet tried - they're gonna be my next choice...
