looks good, except those discs are a RS2 only fitment and won't work on the S2

I gather that the average cost of the 996 monoblock upgarde is around the £500 mark, depending on how many used parts you source or buy new.

Cost of the complete kit with refurbished calipers from us is £785 and you get to chose whatever colour you would like (even Pink) the calipers to be refinished in.

God I hope so....I reckon they would suit Tina's *shudder* old car :mischeif: Or maybe Jamo's Pimp-my-hearse

Hold on, no, Jamo doesn't need them as he was sold a duffer with only 113 BHP, so the stock brakes will be more than enough

(It's a warm day, I have a hammock and a cold beer....think I'll sit back and wait for the firworks to begin...Muhahahahaha)

You're doing it for HER safety! Worked for me (although my wife is a tad blonde and so didn't come back with the obvious...'just slow down')

They weigh a little less as well, with the center piece being aluminium. They work great, so great in fact i had to remove front mudflaps. They were scraping the ground during high speed braking runs

Not looking forward going to Porsche parts dept when they need replacing. I think they work out around £130 + VAT each side

A darn site more expensive than the £10 outlay for the complete original upgrade kit + fitting. (thanks again Corey )

Which, for the re-chip, or the brakes?!
                          Easy either way:

re-chip - "it makes the car more efficient by approx 10% so we're saving the planet"
brakes - "but darling, you wouldn't want me to squash that fluffy bunny would you, with better brakes we'd have already stopped before that bridge back there"!
Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

These quotes for 130 +vat a side for porsche pads is frightning the hell out of me, is it realy nessecerey to upgrade to porsche to get good brakes for road use, my s6 brakes feal pritty good, and they are stopping a lot more weight than my s2, its not the cost of the upgrade that worrys me its the cost of the upkeep,I don't go on track days or anything of that nature,so is there any upgrade that dos'nt cost the earth to mentain, what about s6 brakes do they fit for exsample.

That is for the Porsche 993tt disc option that Brian has, not the standard 996 caliper upgrade.

My last set of Textar pads were less than £50 and the Audi A8 discs are £30 each. You DO NOT need drilled disks, infact it is highly recommended that you do not use them, with 2 primary reasons being that they are prone to cracking and they shred the pads. Not good if you are worried about upkeep costs.

Just stick with a standard 996 upgrade and you will never look back and never hit the car in front.
