The Textars felt like planks of wood in comparison to the DS2500s.
Best pads?

You sorted with your DS2500s now then Newsh? They are fantastic pads aren't they - I've found out they do a fitment for my A4 Avant, so will be swapping them in once I've worn down the stock mahogany!Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

I'm going to have to jump and mention how the DS2500s I tried back when I had RS2 big reds fitted fell apart in no time. I wasn't impressed with them at all.
To be fair I did go from Porterfield R4 compound (rubbish cold, monstrous when warm) to the DS2500 so it was a slight backward step. I wasn't expecting the same brake force but I was surprised at how the pad material cracked and fell apart. Could just have been a bad set, I guess but I do like to use my brakes hard so maybe they are not up to serious long term abuse.
When I finally need pads for the RS6 setup I will probably try the Porterfields again as even though they are only listed for Gallardos they are still a fair bit cheaper than stock RS6 pads.

I did wonder that myself. The brand new RS2 big reds I had fitted got a dose of the corrosion problem at the same time so I binned the lot in favour of the new setup.
