    S2 brake upgrade to RS2 323/322mm setup

    Hello!

Sorry for starting new thread..maybe there is an answer within forum...

Sorry for my English...just need your urgent help.

Today I started to swap front brakes for my S2.

    New setup is following:
    RS2 322mm brake calipers
    RS2 additional brackets....original ones..
Audi A8/S8 front brake discs 323mm
Audi A8/S8 brake pads - the same dimensions as 993 Turbo.

I had a problem with brake pipes/tubes, so I did not attach them at all......

Then I had to finish my job and move car 20m away....therefore I put everything together and put also R18 wheels....something strange happen....I COULD NOT MOVE CAR FROM IT PLACE AT ALL......only somehow with 3000-4000rpm I could move the car....clutch was smelling bad.....

I checked rear wheels ...just to be sure...they were rotating free...

So I have no any idea were the problem is....the only thing that comes in my mind is that something with my new setup is wrong....but what?

    Please help....

    Some things:
    1. hand brake was released
    2. brake pads I put without any pushing...just for left caliper I did not press cylinders back into caliper...but as I told, there were not any problems to put brake pads on...

The only idea what came in my friends mind was that bolts for additional bracket are too long, so when the wheel is on and brake disc is on it place it touch these bolts....I used S2 bolts....may be they should be replaced with shorter ones...

Will let you know about progress.

    Sweet dreams,

I think the original bolts are too long from memory. Get a grinder on them.

They are on a MOnoblock setup, check the inside face of the discs for obvious wear marks.

Sounds like the problem I had with mine, because I have longer bolts to go with the spacers when I ran the car without the spacers and standard rims I could not move it because of the bolts so I had to use the spacers.

Thanks for comments. See picture. Bolts (detail No 6; 4pcs) was too long. I cut off 5 mm.

I can confirm the the standard s2 bolts are to long for the RS2 bracket I just hacksawed 10mm of them.

I brought the RS2 mounting bolt set from vag parts and managed to stretch the bracket bolts with a 3/8 drive ratchet and my arm (I did not have the torque settings)

I would use the standard shouldered bolt, lose 10mm, torque 115Nm

              cheers
