I wonder if the reason the seat brackets are beefier is because they are made from poor material?

They seem to be a tried and tested bracket with no reported probs so far.I sure seat wouldn't make the brackets out of poor material, the scope for failure and lawsuits would be huge, especially on something as impotant as part of the braking system.

I wasn't saying it was your problem just that maybe the seat brackets have extra meat because the material isn't as high a quality as the rs2 brackets.Just a thought.

Well just to remove the bracket from the equation, the bracket was removed and the caliper was held on the disc and still found to be flexing.
I am going to phone a top chap who is a main brembo sport main agent today and see if I can shed any light on this weird problem

Glad you've found the cause of the problems finally Rob, hopefully a new caliper will sort you right out.
When all said and done at least you'll have the newest S2 brake system in the country

would the big reds be a straight swap for the 996, are the mounting bolts the same spacing and would the disc off set be different?
