UFO's replaced with Porsche 6 pots

Spink - if you like to push the car (fast back roads with some hard braking) then the UFO 's just arent up to it. I would look for HP2 's or change the caliper like i was thinking of doing on the UFO strut.

The reason i am going HP2's easier fitment with less work involved as i need to get the car on the road ASAP.


And i will happily post sizes etc.

Ok well doesn't look like they will be much use to me then,looking through FA it appears that the HP2 struts are found on V6's and also my own 5pot diesel,do you know if that correct?I thought it was an S6 thing only.Any idea if the shocks/springs will transfer over?mine appears to be a lot lower than a standard S4

i am sure it is interchangeable. The hp2s i have are from the urs6. I am about 95% sure the 2.5 5pot diesel has them 2. As i had one of them and miss it. Great car in the quattro and a chip. Thats why i have a urs4. All i can say is the only thing i would change on my car is the brakes!

I've not seen any other A6 with the HP2 setup fitted and I've had a V6 and a TDI. The A8, B5 S4s and some others had the same calipers and 314mm discs but obviously the struts won't fit the urSs. All of the S4 and S6 springs and shocks are interchangeable. If you were to buy aftermarket suspension, the parts are listed as fitting both the S4 and S6.

anymore info on either the smaller discs or the 365mm discs. What is needed? Brackets etc. For the hp2 strut.

With the 330mm Mercedes disc you only need a spacer for each caliper bolt, I don't know the specs but they are like big aluminium washers. You will also need to have new caliper bolts machined down to the correct length. The bolts on mine look the same as the hub to driveshaft bolts. The centre of the disc will also need boring out slightly to the correct diameter.

I might try the 330mm discs first. What width is the disc 32mm or 34mm???

Do the 330mms fit under 17" wheels or 18" needed. I have both size of wheels but would like to fit the 365mmx 34mm discs.

17" probably better for the track. but 18"s look far better. might just go for the bigger discs. Will make a list of parts needed with prices once i know.

UFO is the name used for the type of brake setup used on the URS4 Audi. Looks like a steel wheel behind a alloy wheel. This setup is crap and struggles to slow the car down after hard braking.

The HP2 is the strut name used on the URS6. This strut allows you to bolt on different calipers.

Right i have decided to go for the larger discs (360mmx34mm) so i only have to do it once.

I am wondering if anyone has designed/made a mounting bracket for the 6 pot???
