  • Bosch brake pads for Porsce calipers?

I have been trying to find prices for Ferodo DS2500 brake pads for my Conversion. I have carrera 4 front monoblock calipers.

No onehas come back to me with pricing yet. I have found Bosch pads for £61 +VAT.

Does anyone have any comments about them please?

      Hi David,

the part number I think is 0986426681. I looked on the site and brake pads for the car aren't listed! that's reassuring! they're probably cardboard....

comments? well, i've not herrd much about bosch pads being particularly special, in fact i've not heard anything about them at all! So why bother paying for the name?

G&S offer textar pads for £35 a set (textar make the OEM pads - saw them in the porsche dealership!) or pagid blues geta a good review from the prosche forums I seem to temember. £60 from www.911design

        HTH

I paid £150 for my DS2500 (FRP3051) from the main importers (circuit supplies) - like lee had no luck in obtaining a discount!

          Hi,

Yeah i can usuall dredge something up from the web with a partnumber but seems there is no reference at all, even from a porche forum/site like pelican etc.

Dont worry, i am having the same problems locating info about the ferrodo pads from these brembo's. If i turn anything up i'll pm you on those bosch items tho!

          Cheers,

          David

Thanks alistair and David. I wasn't thinking of them as some wonder pad just a 'known name'. I don't want a track day pad but something which bites from cold doesn't fade within seconds and isn't an arm and a leg. DS2500 although not cheap lasts well, is clean and bites well. I will check the sites now that alistair has given me the number!

My local motor factor (Trade) has the Bosch pads.

What is the score with the pad backing/anti sqeual kits. Are they a dealer only item?

Found an useful site for Ferodo part numbers, don't think you are allowed access but it works all the same!
                http://www.elcome.ltd.uk/DSPerf/

they list FDS1435 as the number which I can't work out ( FRP 3051 is correct for DS2500!)

Maybe it is not the right compound? FDS1435 price £122 inc VAT

Thanks David, they seem the same size. Unfortunately the pads are used and crazed ( looking at the photos). I have read from Bira they produce horrible diust but thanks for thinking of me.

Thanks for the thought David. I'm still trying to find about the anti squeal shims which 'glue'? on the back of the pads if anyone knows any more.
