There is a lot of assumption made about the master cylinder being too small as the brakes are so much bigger. As I've said several times before the RS4/6/R8 master cylinder is no bigger than the S2 version.

It is true there will be a proportional increase in pedal travel when you have larger and/or more pistons as more fluid movement occurs.

    BUT

it needs to be remembered that having a larger diameter brake disc coupled with the larger calipers that there will be a proportional decrease in pedal pressure required to achieve the same braking effect as that of standard brakes.

There will be a slight difference in feel on the pedal but that is no different to driving two different cars with different brakes. Once you get used to the change then you can operate the brakes in exactly the same way as normal. The only difference is that when needed there is a huge amount of stopping power available with the added bonus that they are virtually fade resistant.

*as a side note one of the original design criteria of the VW Phaeton was that it must be able to brake from Vmax an unlimited number of times without brake fade, others included the windscreen wipers must work at Vmax*

Monstereddie: Very very nice. Any chance that those brackets work on a C4 S4 or S6 or, if not, that you will be developing a bracket for that application?

The bolt spacing for the bracket on the urs4 strut is bigger than the S2.

Hmmm... Might be a difference between Euro and North American UrS struts (we got G60s not HP2s): we can use RS2 brackets to mount "Big Red" 928 GTS calipers and A8L rotors without any further modification.

I don't have any photos right now. I checked PNs with my friendly parts girl, Kate, and she says my North American UrS4 struts are PN 4A0 412 025 AB (026 AB) which also crosses to some N.American V8s (non UFO). She also said the normal Euro 100 struts were 4A0 412 025 AA (026 AA) (close??) but the Euro S4 non-UFO UrS4 strut was 4A0 412 025 G (026 G).

Sorry, that's all I have for now.

@S2 avant do you have any idea if the standard master brake cylinder of a 90 quattro type 85 is good enough for Porsche brakes then, I guess it's a yes.

First of all.... Thanks to ya all guys!!

+ --> i can cnc any bracket to any car.

I used for my RS2 TÜV and Aeroplane approved Stainless Steel, this is not that expensive. But for the Ceramic we used Aluminum also Aero and Space approved -- very expensive.

The Rotor Adapters cost between 320-500€ each and the Brackets between 190 and 300€ each. Basically i need the wheelarm of any car and i could custom made ANY BRAKE to any car.

I already installed the Brembo 8pod on following cars:

                      TT Mark 1
                      TT Mark 2
                      Audi S3 Mark 1
                      Audi S3 Mark 2
                      Audi S2
                      Audi RS2
                      Audi 200 20v Turbo
                      Mercedes CLS 320 CDI
                      Mercedes E500
                      Mercedes B320 CDI
                      Porsche 993T
                      Porsche 996T

As you see it is no problem at all.
Always with the steel flex brake fluid lines and everything either aluminum or stainless steel. Usually we use regular steel for the brake caliper brackets. They will be treated galvanical. So there cant be rust anymore.

It can be very cheap to upgrade the brakes. Buy RS4 Rotors (B7 - 4.2l V8) and the Calipers out of the same car, or Lamborghini Gallardo or S8.... Then buy the brackets with steel flex and upgrade yourself.

This is the rotor bracket discs for a RS2 Rotor on an Audi TT MK1. -- 299€
