One of my mates has been working on turning a 4 stud hub into 5 stud but don't know how far he got, he was planning on fitting it to a cheap 20v cq etc and testing it out.
This is far more complex and potentially risky than just welding brake disc holes and drilling new ones. Which is a bit tricky, because you need to make flat surface from hub side. I've seen redrilled discs many times with or without welding holes. Also you can press small mild steel "cents" into old holes. This allows easier drilling, and provides additional safety in case you loose wheel somehow .
