    RS2 Brake issue, help!

I was at the mechanic talking to him about my RS2 intermittently cutting out(http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39568 ), while I was there he was poking around pulling relays (including fuel pump) and some plugs etc.

Anyway, I left, drove down the road 500m, braked for some traffic lights and the brake warning light came on. I turned the car off, started it again drove off down the road and it happened again. Got to work (only 2kms away from the mechanic) and the brakes were working fine. I left work early to head back to the mechanic's, the light came on again, brakes still working fine.
The mechanic thought it could have been the power steering fluid, that was fine, as is the brake fluid, he said it must have been a sensor. I went to drive off, got down the end of the drive, applied the brakes, the light came on again and the brake pedal was rock hard and vibrating with my foot pressed against. The brakes felt dead, firm and barely work.

Whats going on? Is it the brake bomb?

Also, I turned the car off and restarted it a number of times, the brake light comes on 35 seconds after starting the car. I pulled the ABS fuse but it still felt the same.

I have had a search on the forum but cant pin point the problem

Good forward to hearing your advice

    Update:

When I went to the gym this morning, the pedal was rock hard before I started the car, the light came on again. It feels like it has no power brakes but it will stop, as you can with a car with no power brakes.
Any I leave the gym, the same deal, brake pedal rock hard, light comes on. . . Then the light goes off so I try the brakes and the are fine! I get the car home, turn it off, pump the brake pedal (brake bomb test) and get 60 pumps without it getting hard.

I have exactly the same issue on my car, its the power steering pump you will notice the steering goes Hard and the brakes become non existant for a few seconds then when the brake light stops flashing they start to work again.

On my car its definetly the power steering pump thats gone which also effects the brakes. My Car was at MRC for a couple of weeks had Doug sorting out some performance issues i was having, he noticed the problem and also put it down to the pump.

with your car it may be one of the relays etc that your macanic was messing around with as you said it was fine prior to him messing with it but definetly check everything relating to the power steering.

        Cheers
