and I got the RS2 brackets from Europrice for $185...they used to be $210 I believe.

David! Thanks fo any help you can offer! Question?

When you say Europarts, do you mean Europrice? If it's Europrice, boy have you got that one wrong!! There are hundreds of places here in the States called Europarts.

        NoNonsense! You lucky dog!!

Joe are you using 17' rims on your ride? What are you planning to use for hats?
I'm saddled with 16" BBS RN rims that cost me a right nut so no way can I go bigger. Think I can use a Porsche Monoblock Calipers with my 16"s if I can score some kind of mounting adapters?

I'm going the route of using the European A8 rotors, so 314x30mm rotors. No need for a custom hat. I may upgrade to the billzcat set up at a later date, or get custom brackets to fit the Audi S4 rotor, because there are many companies that make a 2-piece floating rotor to fit under the S4's calipers. The only thing about the bilzcat system that is holding me back, it that it's too new and not proven yet...but Richard is a great guy. I may be wrong, but I think a 32mm wide rotor (993tt rotors with custom hats) are too wide for the 996 caliper. Yes, you can machine 2mm off each pin, but when the rotor gets hot and expands, i think it may push on the pads...unless one shaves the pads before installing them.

yes, i purchased my hubs through Alex at Europrice and paid out the nose, but that's what i really wanted, so i ate it. it'll be worth it, though, in a week to have nice brand spankin' new hubs, rotors and calipers and wheel bearings!

For the bracket you could use the Seat Ibiza Cupra R part which gives the same spacing as the RS2 item.

                Much cheaper at 18 GBP.

Thanks for the info Mike. Just a quick one everyone the RS2 bracket sometimes needs shims ( washers) to space the caliper 100% correctly.

The Seat Ibiza Cupra R Part instead of the RS2?...

HMMM, maybe I'll ask Martyn at VAG parts if that's viable.

Vagparts cannot supply it. 6KL 615 421 is the part number. I got it through a VW dealer.

Can anyone tell me what size discs these calipers were designed to run on, diameter and thickness?

If you mean the calipers in the pic at the begining of this thread then if they are from a 996 Carerra they were for 28mm thick (altough you can get 30mm to fit with a bit of work) and 318mm in diameter.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I'm no expert on this......

I Have the disk and caliper from a Carrera 2WD the disk size is 304mm x 32mm. It's sitting in my shed getting in the way......

                              I think the 928 and the 968CS is the same. The 993TT has a 322 x 32mm disk I think ( Big red set-up.

                                @ David

Hmmmmmmmm.............why did the porsche site I just visited say different. The Boxter S is the same as the 996 Carrera and this gave the same (318 x 28mm)

Is your disk from a 996 or 993?
