All fitted up now. Just awaiting longer wheel bolts from demon tweeks. Should be here tomorrow!

The fitting was dead easy. I used no shims for the carriers to the hub. But i needed 2 small shims from carrier to caliper just to make them clear the disc.

Haven't taken the car anywhere yet except around the trading estate at low (ish) speeds. Dont trust the wheel bolts, only in 2.5 threads!

Will be have full report once bedded in. They look mad behind the 5 spoke wheel. Only just clear the spokes. Hopefully they wont expand too much and touch the wheels. Have you got any pics of the brake lines that they fitted to your car? The ones they sent me seem too long, but have got around it for now. Post a piccy of the finished job from behind the wheel if you can please.

With my car they fitted 2 hoses on each side. They don't seem to have done this on Jim's though I think they only fitted 1 (to the caliper)

See pic below each of these was replaced with a SS hose.

Next pic is the finished job behind a dirty corroded wheel!!

Why don't you guys replace the 2 flexis and metal pipe with one long flexi - Most of the Goodridge distributors can make up Goodridge hoses to your spec - I got 2 new ones for my front for under £25. I do have the AP set but I can scan the drawing of it and all you have to do is specify th ecorrect connector on the end.

I had though about that. Have you had to attach it to the front strut in any way or does it just 'hang free' so to speak

No offense but audiman you have pretty ugly alloys . I wouldn't even use one for a spare wheel.

Sweeper, they might have seen better days but all early s2's rolled off the production line with those 5 spokes....

Tom - time to get the autogym out :nana:

Got to say, those calipers look the dogs behind them, wheel look truely full of brake at last!

                          Cheers,

                            Sweeper - It's called stealth.

Audiman has a car which looks like a standard S2 but has a lot more power. That is a lot more 'classy' than having car with really tacky bodykits, spoilers and naff alloys :nana:

I think the green coupe shown in your avatar (and I say this with no offence) to me it looks a bit over the top

Oh well we all have our own tastes. How boring would the world be if we all agreed

Come on Sweeper - give Audiman a break - he's just a kid - almost half my age

His priorities lie with a big turbo (chipped by me and Mihnea), seriously chunky exhaust pipes, suspension modifications and proper brakes. Big shiny sexy alloys are nice to have but they come way down the priority list for folk like Tom and me.

Anyway - having big sexy alloys is like going out with a supermodel - they are too high maintenance, attract too much attention, get stolen, take frickin ages to get ready if you are taking them out for a night and really break your heart when they get damaged. Going out with a respectable chick from down the street, or some slapper down the pub from out of town gets the job done just fine !

Did I really say that ? I'm not sexist - the same scenario works for blokes as well - ahh fuggit...
