Having said that the car has been off the road for 5 years so they're probably seized on anyway. If this is the case it wil be a good time to replace/upgrade to RR rears.

I've more or less decided now on:

    1. Front 996's (996.351.425/6 monoblocs).
    2. Custom made carriers via Kev Bambridge.
    3. Sport Quattro or S4 321mm front discs.
    4. Goodridge metal braided hoses.
    5. Ferodo DS2500 pads
what wheels will you be using?

      17" Azev.

I now have the car back home with me so I'll be seriously looking for new brakes in the very near future.

Will these calipers fit under a 17" wheel - GT3 Big Reds?

              Part numbers are 996 351 429 & 996 351 430

Not from what i've seen/heard I don't think they will.

Either the one's that volcano has or some porsche monoblocs will be enough for your car, remember its a very light car you don't want to overbrake it with anything mental, I turned down some 8 pot callipers at a stupidly low price as that would have been waaaay over the top.

Last time I looked at brake upgrades for urq struts I did look into rears and iirc the RR callipers are listed as the same as a6/s6 quattro avant and the sport quattro so might be an easy upgrade there - 269mm RR disc so a good size going up from the stock urq 245mm size disc.

strangely tho etka lists a 295mm disc on the sport quattro.

FWIW: I have 996tt's calipers with 993tt rotors that fit under 17" rims

But it might be a pain in the rear to source the parts. If someone has a complete setup with brackets, hats, rotors and calipers that came off a UR ...GO FOR IT!
