I tried to stick the old dampers to the new pads unsuccessfully. The dampers are in there now but not really doing anything
    What bracket did you use...??

I think they're RS2 brackets but not 100% sure. When I bought the car it had different porsche calipers on with these brackets. With all the noises I replaced them when I got a good deal on a set of Boxster S calipers.

It worked initially but I think that was cos they were new pads.

I would look at replacing the bracket with one of Bambridges aka Kev...

Can't be good for the calipers, pistons, discs or pads being off center!!

        FWIW..

From what I've read RS2 brackets should be fine with those calipers, some people have used a couple of washers others not, but they are definitely useable.

I had similar resonation issues with custom brackets from Bambridge so I think you can eliminate them as being the problem, although it might be worth using a couple of washers to centre the calipers onto the disc.

I can't space it out using washers. It needs the caliper to move further away from the gearbox in order to centralise the disc. There are only three options that I can see.

Remove 1mm from back face of bell.

1mm spacer between bell and rotor.

            New custom carrier.

As far as I know the Bambridge ones are the same dimensions as the RS 2 ones. There would be no difference. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

He does 2 types of brackets... one for using the standard 314mm disc and 996 caliper and the bigger one for A8 323 discs which is the same as the Rs2 one as far as I know.... But PM him and ask!!

a mm here or ther is not issue. granted better central.

the pistons will take up the play.

Shaved another couple of mils of the outside pins and no more vibrations!
My discs don't sit centrally in the calipers either which left the outside pins a little
to close to the face of the discs.

My outer pads are running really tight to the discs but not causing any rubbing noises, I assume they will free-up with a little wear and it is not a problem to have them fill the entire space available when new?
