    Got new brakes :):):)

Finally my project is comming together. My engine is about to be finished and last weekend i bought some small new front brakes

Its a custom set of 2 8 pot AMG E55 calipers brembo's offcourse. Together with 2 rs4 front discs 360x32.
Im gonna fix some brackets this weekend or otherwise next week. But it fits right in my 18" wheel

I`m wondering what you guys think of this setup guess not much s2 drivers have bolted up 8pots.
But i`m very curious what the results are.

    Cheers,

    Cees

Jesus!!, are you sure they're big enough? :mischeif:

Very tidy mate, what pads are you running?

Think you need a sticker in the back saying "warning this car may stop suddenly!"

That's awesome! Will you be able to find any aftermarket 2-piece feather-weight rotors that would be RS4 spec!? Those rotors must weight a ton.
i thought my new rotors and calipers were huge...yours are definitely double mine! Very nice!

Also, did you consider the mercedes AMG drilled rotor...they have 5x112 PCB too, so it would all be a matter of offsets and clearance with your wheels.

Well, i dont had the chance to shop for some pads, but hopefully you guys can recommend me some ?
And the idea of the amg drilled rotor maybe an option but first i want to ride my car but that will also gonna take some more months

And about the sticker that`s a great idea

But i`m sure this can brake my new arriving ponys wich will be a bit more than the 220 stock with the new pauter rods, and je pistons

              Cheers,

              Cees

Whoops, allmost forgot anybody knows where to get a new piston for my calipers, one is missing. So i need a new one. I can make one myself but guess i need some new seals to when replacing the piston ?

finding a piston is going to be hard...i don't think they are for sale separate of a caliper. that's how porsche calipers are. you would probably need to also order a rebuild kit to get new seals for those beasts!
good luck with everything...that's going to be REALLY NICE.
I was pondering on putting some Porsche Cayanne brakes next summer...which are 6-pot, but even those now look tiny in comparison to the 8-pots

They look awesome mate, I suggest wearing a gum shield when driving so that you don't leave your teeth in the steering wheel everytime you apply the brakes!

I was looking at the brakes on a VW Toureg V10 the other day (sad really I know) and they looked pretty damned impressive - anyone thought about trying those out on an S2?

The pad recommended by the real brake gurus here is one of the Ferrodo ones, not sure which though I'm afraid. I've got EBC Reds, which certainly work well, especially when warm, but don't have much low-temp bite in all honesty. They call it "progressive" in the literature, but I think that's an excuse.

A friend of mine makes pistons from stainless, if you are careful you can swap pistons without damaging the seal.

If you need seals they are usually available singly. Good luck.

                      P.S. Nice brakes!!

@NoNonsense - That's a nice looking set up you've got there too. What discs are you using with those 996 calipers ? Those cup alloys look nice and shiny. Are they replicas ?

Been there and tried that, the hat height is too deep to fit. I was trying 330 x 32mm discs though.

They fouled on the ball joint and brake mounts.
