Thanks Peter. I've got the same set up as you. A8 rotors under the 996 calipers. The wheels, I bought used, but they were well cared for. I cleaned them up, polished and waxed them, and they look good for their age. They are the Mille Miglia 17" x 7.5" replica.

[QUOTE=I was pondering on putting some Porsche Cayanne brakes next summer...which are 6-pot, but even those now look tiny in comparison to the 8-pots[/QUOTE]

I have just bought some Porsche Carrera Cup calipers off a 996 GT3. They are brand new 6 pots for a bargain price I looked at the Cayenne Turbo 6 pots, but I felt they were physically too large, so I went with the GT3 CC ones. Can't wait to get them behind some 18"s

I concur...but the cayanne calipers are much less expensive than the GT3 calipers. don't forget to post some pics of those!

mine are brembo Euro A8 rotors...custom drilled and slotted at a local machine shop for $40 USD. we'll see how they hold up...only went on the car less than 1000 miles ago.

I got my calipers through the Porsche main dealer in Canberra for $AUD825 each (well under GBP 300) which I thought was pretty cheap I will send photos once fitted

Or is Lee now going to start talking about overkill

                    looks great!
No Lee will probably go for a set of TaroX 12 pots just for the crack, and 20"wheels to squeeze them under as the largest disc size available will only do

Naw, you can easily get kits for rebuilding Porsche calipers. Racers rebuild all the time. In Sweden, you can get the piston, the ring seal and the dust protecter in a kit for 300 kr or about $40. I was pissed cuz I didn't need the piston, just the sealing ring.

That's very cool...i only thought that the kits come with new seals...good to know.

Well still havent got my the chance to get my hands on some recaros but first i my priority now is to get the car up and running again, it gonna be repainted in the next 2 weeks and before that the whole transmission line needs te be put in place as well as the new slightly bigger fuellines. so enough to do

But its real fun doing this especially putting the small brakes on i`m really curious what stopping effect it will have towards the HUGE brakes wich are standart on

                              Cheers,
