Changing Audi S2 3B ABS Pump - expensive?

Anyone any ideas as to what sort of money I would be talking for the repalcement of the ABS pump in my 3B? Have done masses of reading and I think I have concluded that my ABS issue must be caused by the pump.

    cheers

Have you ruled out the relays that control the ABS pump - they sit under the plastic cover - they are normal 40A relays from memory.

What symptoms do you have ?

When you start to move off in the car you can hear a pump engaging, definately coming from where the ABS pump sites. Red warning light flashes three times etc. If you disengage the ABS (optional switch) then the noise stops.

OK - take the plastic cover off and swap relays from something like radiator fan positions in the fusebox - worth a try...

Cheers. I'll give it a go. Literally just exchange the relays for 40A fuses?

Yes - they should have a number like 204 or 214 to help you match them up. If in doubt - post up any numbers or photos of the relays.

Cheers. I'll nip out and take a couple of snaps. The relays in the fuse box are numbered as you say.

Yeah - snap the relays under the ABS cover as well - cannot remember if a clip or screw retains that on 3B

does the schematic on the ABS relays show numbers like 30,85,86,87 - post a pic if unsure... that will help locate a suitable donor from the fusebox
