    S6 ABS help needed urgent

Just put my s6 in for an MOT,and it failed on a few things. One was the ABS light on all the time, and they cannot get vagcome to read the ABS ECU.
The light has been on since we welded the pedal box up after it snapped.
We welded it up insittue.I have done a search for the ABS light, but with no luck,so I would be very greatful if anyone could offer any ideas.

Meant to say then do a proper fix afterwards to give you longer to fix it?

Ahh, I guess that doesnt help then. Mind you I know that when you get the warning symbol on the LCD display for Power steering if you disconnect the plug it goes away and leaves it alone. Is this the same with the ABS symbol? Worth a try? it is still worth fixing properly if you have the time as its a safety feature for you and the family.

Was the welding done with an electric arc welder and one cable was grounded to the part of the pedal connected to the car, by chance?

Yeh, as urs4boy is suggesting, pretty sure in the bently it says to disconnect the abs unit whenever doing any welding, or some such precations.

Frying is the generic term I believe, I dont know what, or why but theres plenty of sensitive elctronics in them black boxes....

Before doing any electrical welding on cars equipped with ABS, disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal (ground strap) and the ABS control module connector.

Maybe try another ABS control unit? I have a spare coupe one, dunno if its the same.

                    Have you checked fuses ??
