The HEL kit arrived this morning and seems very good quality indeed. I will report on the fit once they are..... err, well fitted I suppose.

The kit comes with 6 copper washers which they say should be fitted but the mind boggles as to where as the avant doesnt use banjo connections anywhere.

Car has failed to mot on the flexi hoses running from the strut to the inner wing. I've managed to remove them but not without damaging the connections.

I thought I may look at replacing with a single braided flexi from the inner wing to the caliper (Boxster S calipers). Can anyone suggest the best place to buy from and which hoses to buy. Seems to be differing opinions on Goodridge and Hel.

Also, what type of connectors do I need (both ends)?

                Thanks

                  Hi Alistair,

For the front you'll need a male end for the caliper and a female end for the wing side.

I went for the RS2 hardline (that goes directly into the caliper and is a male-male peice of copper with a grommet) plus a Goodridge hose like this : -

....or you could as mentioned in the thread and as you propose go the single hose way. Goodridge agents like Merlin Motorsport or Demon Tweeks will make a custom pipe for you. The choice......as they say...is yours!

                  Cheers

I'd rather go for the flexi hose option.

Are there different sizes in connectors or is it just male and female? I have Boxster S calipers so I assume I'm looking at a banjo type connector for that end and a female connector on the other.

What's the concensus on the length of the hose?

                    Thanks

                    Alistair

I know it's been nearly a year but got round to fitting the hoses today (well, I tried to). Problem is that 2 of the hoses in the HEL kit are completely wrong. The rear inner hoses are 120mm too long and have a male and female end. I wish I had of fitted them when I got them as I'd have sent them back to HEL.

I might e-mail them to tell them, even if it's just to let them know that their kit needs altered. Don't know what I'm going to do now, I may have to find someone to make me just these 2 hoses. The others are all OK.

MOT is on the 22nd as well so I'm going to have to sort something out soon.

Hmm, so either I was unlucky and the numpty who packed them put the wrong hoses in or you bought yours after mine, by which time they'd realised the mistake and rectified it.

There's a local company who do hydraulic hoses, I wonder if I took them the long ones could they cut them to correct size and crimp on a female connector.

Yeah I suppose I bought mine after yours - mine were bought in October 2012.
