Discs and pads were fitted a couple of months ago and I just left off the shims to see how I got on (not run them for a while with little issue) but I think by cleaning everything up, it's a little freer to slap about and make that bloomin' ringing noise.

Eco stic impact adhesive works a treat . Coat both surfaces leave to go tacky then stick them in place job done in ten minutes .
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

I checked out the spec sheet for the evo stik impact adhesive and it's only recommended up to 65degC, so I decided to use the copper RTV and it seems to have worked well, although it made for quite a messy job before on the first pad I did! Soon worked out a method though.

When I took the brakes apart, I realised that I'd fitted the pads dry, as I'd not had any copper grease to hand when I did the job, so that would explain why they were soooooo bad! Will have to wait for a long journey before I know if they've stopped ringing or not.

Cheers for all the ideas and help

I had to drive by covering the brake pedal with my left foot When the noises started the first time around, I did a 200 mile journey up the motorway with my left foot on the brake. Must have looked very odd being overtaken by a car in the outside lane with the brakes on.
