audi s2 front brakes on 16v coupe

Im all set to fit my big brake upgrade to my s2. my brother has a 16 valve coupe and we are towing with idea of fitting the standard s2 front calipers. has anyone tried this. is it a simple swap of calipers carriers calipers and discs?

I've just realised one small detail. my brothers hubs are 4 bolt pattern. so i couldn't use the s2 discs.

Another other idea would be to see if the carrier will fit and see if golf mk2 or corrado g60 280mm discs have the right hat hight and line up with the carrier. If they do you could get them re-drilled to 4x108.

You could also try and find if there is a disc that is 280mm that will fit straight on the coupes hub and line up with the carrier.

          S2 Brakes

          Hi

I used the calpers/carriers from S2 and the 2.6/2.8 (v6)discs on my old red Audi 80 TDI Avant..( before i changed to 5 studs)also did it to my E reg Audi 80s........made a hell of adifference to braking effort

          hope this helps

does anyone know what size discs this conversion would need and Will it fit under standard 15 inch speedlines? Im looking at straight forward nut and bolt swap for two reasons my brother never has any money and i end up paying. also as i have a majority of the parts eg pads carriers and calipers and my brothers car needs new discs it seems a perfect time.

Yeah just get the 20v/v6 discs. They're the same as s2 only 4 stud. Itll all just bolt on! And yes they should fit under the 15" speed line splits as they were the standard 20v Quattro wheels which also had those brakes.

looking on net there is a 276 4 stud which is same diameter as s2 and the v6 are 280 mm. ill prob go with 276 to keep it all like factory but with the crucial 4 stud pattern.

                      1. the right 4 bolt pattern disk is from a 2.3 20v B3, or from a 2.8 V6 B4, the 2.6 V6 has different front brakes and the disk is tatally different too.

                      2. you dont need to buy new disks, you redrill them to 4x108.

                      3. the s2 brakes are not an upgrade, assuming the 16v has 280mm disks.

not sure what size discs are on coupe as standard but think they are 256 mm and obviously single pot piston

at that time the 16v was a sports car, im pretty sure they are 280x22

check if they are ventilated or solid
