Im confused .. are you saying that 16 valve had 280 mm brakes? i gather the 276 4 stud discs with s2 calipers Will bolt straight on. but if already 280 which pretty certain they aren't what's the point?Comment

1. 16v= 280x22 disks 4x108, 54mm single piston caliper
2. B3 20v and 2.8 B4 276x25mm disks 4x108, 2 pot calipers
3. S2 same brakes as above, but 5x112 disks
4. you cant use 2pot calipers with 280mm disks.
bottom line is, (if) you already have 280mm disks, the 2pot calipers are no upgrade, they will not stop you car faster then the brakes you have.Audi Quattro WRComment

Yes but I undestood the 90 20v has a lower hat height on the discs than the cq20v or s2. Possibly to do with hub offset?

The 90 20v uses a different hub as it also runs a different track from the Coupe. Disc hat is 5mm lower on the 90 20v compared to the Coupe / S2
The twin piston brakes (G60) are very much an improvement over the single piston G54 fitted to the 16v and 2.6Mike

you would think it would help being twin pots. may do it anyway but which discs are correct now then? really confused now?Comment

they are an upgrade, but will not stop the car faster, only wear more slowly because of the larger pad surface, and will take more heat because of the thickness.
some proof and part numbers:
