This pic shows quite clearly that the mounting bolts are "axial". Look like rear calipers to me.

Jamo, you are right there but....

judging from his pix it looks like he wants to run rear Porsche calipers up front.
      Can that even be done?

Hey jamo thanks for the link! Gotta a couple of questions thou?

1/ Is he saying you have to shave the caliper mounting brackets? How much?
2/ Also that the A8 rotor has to be shaved too? To 307mm?
3/ That the Boxster calipers themselves have to be shaved? And at the outer corners?

Sorry friend but don't think it can be done.

              I'm sure others here agree.

I got a contact with the seller and he said that they are off from a Porsche 964 and they are front calipers. So does anyone know if they fit and can I put 314 mm disks there?

Yup, the 964 front is an exception. They are axial mounts.

I think the only way you will get those over 314 discs is machine off the mounting "ears" and drill radial mounting holes in the caliper. Then use an adapter like the RS2 adapter. It is a PITA. Even then, you probably won't be able to get them to fit the thickness of the disc.

Take a look at VCI's site. They modify 964 calipers to fit slightly larger (28x299mm) discs.

So I can use my existing S2 original disks?

You ask "So I can use my existing S2 original disks?"

To know that you have to know 2 things.

                          1. Will the 964 calipers attach to the S2 hub at the correct offset and correct radial distance from the S2 disc. Try it man. As I recall, Porsche 930 brakes could not bolt to my S2. They had the standard Porsche spacing so I don't think the 964 brakes will fit either. But try! If not, you will have to machine and use adapters.

                          2. Second you have to know if the 964 caliper with 964 brake pads inserted can fit over the S2 disc.

                              Original size is 276x25 mm.

Listen, I get the feeling you didn't really think this through much before you bought the calipers. Here is the deal.

Most of us want to UPGRADE our brakes. That means using discs that are thicker and with a larger radius. We select calipers that are big enough to fit the discs and which use brake pads with a larger area than the original. This way, you can put the kinetic energy into a larger swept area on the disc and a larger volume on the pad. This lets you handle and dissipate the heat better.

Keeping the original discs and getting sexy red calipers with "Porsche" on them might make an improvement if you brake once or twice. This is OK for street driving. But if you brake hard repeatedly like on the track, you want to upgrade i.e. you want bigger discs too.

Lastly, a 25 mm thick disc might be too thin for the 964 pads. The pistons might be pushed out too far.

I think I'll still get A8 disks and machine them down to 299 mm. Then it should be fine. I probably have to make the adapters as well.
