    Warning light

Problems problems when I least need them!

My brake warning light's staying on all the time (the red circle with the ! symbol).

When I turn the car on from cold the light comes on for a few seconds, but then it goes out. It then comes back once I start driving.

When I turn the car on from warm I get the "OK" symbol come up. And then straight after the OK symbol goes out the warning light is back.

I've carried out the bomb test and that seems to be fine.

I've recentely changed the rear calipers and was wondering if this would have something to do with it??? Or maybe I need some brake fluid???

could it be that the p/s pump is not capable of delivering enough pressure?

I don't think so - I have driven my car without the belt on the power steering pump - no flashing lights, but hard work.

When my crank pulley bolt came out my father towed me 7 miles down the road and my bomb powered my brakes all the way untill the road where the garage i was to be doing the repairs was. Once the pressure ran out it was skid marks time- stopping a 1.5 tonne car without any assistance is scary. And the steering was a bitch all the way

Graham - I guess that wasn't skidmarks on the road then !!

I have the same warning light problem and since the cold came in it is on all the time. Bomb test suggest OK. Fluid levels checked.

Shame on me. My servo reservoir level was OK I assumed, but just by topping it with two-three cm of fluid the beep and blink ceased.

How many pumps is it ment to take to check the bomb? I did it while i was sat waiting the other day and got 57 pumps before the pedal went hard.
