I need new discs on my slipperwagon and I'm currently weighing up the economics of doing the upgrade to Boxster S (or 996) calipers and A8 discs as opposed to new standard discs and redstuff pads.
There has been a few references in the archive that Seat RS caliper brackets are a cheaper caliper mounting solution than the 'proper' Audi RS2 brackets but I've been able to find posts that say they will fit and some that say they won't. I've also found posts that say they are £24 and some that say they are £95 each.
Can anybody say for definate whether these caliper brackets are suitable and at what cost (and part number) from the Seat dealers. If they are no good, or the £95 that has been quoted, then does anybody out there have the facilities to make up some mounts at a cheaper price than the RS2 ones?
Lastly. If I go ahead with the brake upgrade what sort of reception can I expect when I tell my insurers, Direct Line, about my shiny new brakes?
