    Brakes under 17s

Now I've got all big at the back, I think it's time to go bigger up front too. Stuck with the 314s and monoblocks since 2006 and they've been good companions but I'm interested in what's about if I go bigger

What options are there? 330? 345? GT3 front monoblocks?

Other option is getting bigger front discs but 323s seem a bit of a pointless upgrade.

Do you run a custom disc bell then? Or did you have them re-drilled & run spigots / had the centre bore enlarged?

Let me know if the 345s are for sale at some point I think that's a suitable upgrade. Was also looking in to 330 option using Merc discs but Audi discs are preferable for ease of use.

              Nice wheels too

Nice, love how they fill the space behind the rim.

Any photos with and without the rims, for those of us with no imagination.

                  Thanks.

                    They are already for sale

The rotors are from Mercedes M class AMG IRC 345x32

They are not too expensive and seems to work perfectly!

Are the Audi 345s the discs to use with the GT3 4 pots (996.351.429/430)?

The 345mm discs weigh an absolute ton. I would not use a single piece disc that big. If you go two piece yes the initial set-up cost is quite a bit higher but you have so many options if you use a common rotor mounting PCD.
I am considering going down this route some time later this year, using GT3 4pots and a fully floating two piece set-up.

I seem to remember the 345 Audi is a 345x30. you can stay smaller if the width increases to help with cooling and as Alex says those 345s weigh a ton, I was looking at them ages ago with the old Megane/bembo monoblock before deciding they were less flexible than the 996 route for pad options

Who makes custom bells then? 2 part discs sound expensive

Are these 320x32 discs or another size?

6 pots sound interesting, although pad availability and cost will influence me a fair bit.

My mechanic has the S2 at the moment for a few things including new brakes. Movit 4 Pot Calipers and discs but I refuse to pay QST for the rotors which are stupidly overpriced. I've asked mateyboy to source Porsche 993 TT discs (think they are 320x32 or there abouts) with the relevant pads from the 993. Rotors are cast afresh rather than being drilled post manufacturer, so will last ages and cool better. I know the previous disc setup was epic and I am expecting the same performance. Cannot fault it and no need for oversize large heavy discs. Will get some pics up when done (assuming the turbo comes off ok and recon goes as expected) Ready for large bill, eeek! Only possible problem is will the old bells fit the new discs. Might need some new ones machined. The bill will increase more. Oh well, fun aint cheap.
