I thought your reason might be that perhaps you had identified a weight advantage over the brembo/Porsche caliperss. So AP can provide a comprensive spares back up and that's great.Did you find then that the porsche/brembo back up not as good or was it the AP are just superior? I am only asking as i have no idea about the why's are werefores and any information gleaned is good.

I think Brembo recently bought out AP. I would imagine their top end components are probably quite similar but this is a guess.

AP were able to design the full kit with everything included for the model of car I wanted. The Porsche/Brembo setup seems to be a cobbled together affair for people in the know. I am not one of these people. I drive the car hard but don't know how to go about fitting various different bits and getting all the individual components together and finding mounting bits and carriers that will fit etc etc. It is basically the lazy route that is guaranteed to work. I would rather spend my time fishing, shooting and driving the car than faffing about dealing with parts etc. I just want it to stop as well as poss and I did not want any bigger wheels than 17's. In a perfect world, I would prefer them to be 16's for the better driving experience as Audi made it but that is not possible with the braking performance I want coupled with my lack of knowledge.

I did a fair bit of research on a variety of forums from Track specialists to fast road use on a variety of cars and AP seemed to be the one most people were voting for if money were no object. They were able to offer the kit, hence why I have it.

Not able to comment on weight difference between the AP's and Brembo's but I can weigh the components separately if that would help. It is not being fitted for a week or so, so I should be able to find some scales to do this but no promises as quite busy. I think my fishing scales would do the job. I can confirm the discs are heavy but I was not expecting them to be light for 330's.

Why you didn't order the famous AP 6 Pot calipers?

In the evos world the most common brake upgrade is AP 6 pots with 330x28 or 32 rotors under 17"'s so I think you could do it.

They upgrade the brakes even having those brembo 4 huge pot calipers!! These calipers which comes from factory has bigger pots than the Porsche BIG reds and they sells for 200/250£ which is a bargain I think...

              Mmm, they look rather tasty!

Do APs have dust seals like a normal road caliper?

Yep these do. Alex warned me about it a few months ago when I was thinking about new brakes.
