I'll be replacing my AP discs in the new year so I'll try to remember to weigh the lot before I refit.

That'd be great Greg. AP have the rotor data online, be great to get a measure of the calipers

Empty without pads, pin and springs?

I remember my Audi Ceramic 6 pot weighting near to 9kg with everything inside them

Thats the dry empty weight. 6.5 was with pistons, brakeline and maybe a bit of fluid

Those 17Z/18Z weights seem low, even unloaded...

Here are some actual weights from parts I've measured...

                            17Z loaded caliper: 13.8 lbs. (6.27 kg)
                            18Z loaded caliper: 14.4 lbs. (6.54 kg)
                            996/Boxster S loaded caliper: 7.8 lbs. (3.54 kg)
                            345x30 D2 S8 rotor: 26.0 lbs. (11.81 kg)
                            323x30 D2 A8 rotor: 23.2 lbs. (10.55 kg)
