    MAYBE a solution for handbrake with cayene 4pot rear caliper?

    I was thinking what to do about my handbrake with cayene rears
    And it hit me,what about making a hydro handbrake? Puting cylinder and keeping the stock looking handbrake,and then make a "T" peace on left and right cayene caliper so handbrake can work without aditional caliper's
    It this posible?Or i am just dreaming

    Possible, probably but over here at least, illegal. We need a mechanical handbrake to pass the MOT

          Pretty sure that's not the case here now. What with all the e-brakes they had to do something.

          I'm sure a current tester can confirm though...

            Not according to the MOT information;

            An electronic parking brake (EPB), although applied electronically, must be maintained in operation by direct mechanical means. This mechanism may be within the brake caliper or within the motor/gear assembly, so cannot be readily seen.
            Hydraulic parking brakes as a sole means of operation are not acceptable on vehicles first used on or after 1 January 1968. However, they may be used to assist the application or release of a mechanical brake.

                You can fit a hydraulic handbrake to operate the rear brake calipers.

                Does your car have a single brake line going back to a T to either caliper?

                    try searching on some of the drifting forums, they all use hydraulic handbrakes (hydro)

                      Hydraulic will work and is relatively easy to do but you guys will not pass MOT with it or in the US states that do a thorough inspection probably will not pass the car either. Check out Edigreg on the project pad.com and motorgeek. He did the hydro hand brake on his urs4 with boxster S 4 pot rear calipers. The same ones I'll be using. I also don't like the idea for a hydro hand brake for when parking on a steep hill or mountain because as you know if pressure bleeds off you can say bye to your vehicle.

                        Also I think HAP with the green monster is using a hydraulic parking brake.

                            What's wrong with leaving the car in gear and use the parking brake at the same time?

                              TBH I hardly use my handbrake, I mostly just leave the car in gear as the brakes are normally pretty hot. But in the UK you need a mechanical handbrake to be road legal
