Hmm. So these plates will work with BoxsterS rear calipers as well as Cayenne/Tuareg rear calipers?

Yes, both calipers share same size pads.

Thomas this won't work under 17 inch wheels?
Also do these need a spring or something to retract
the caliper piston? I see how it pulls the pads together
        but what about releasing?

              Thomas,
this's a brilliant idea and much simple. Just one comment on this metal sheet e brake mods.when you have a worn brake pads let's say1/3 of its life, the pistons would normally come out but when we pull the e brake ,the cable will be clamping the brake pads together.remember those metal sheet are placed over the caliper pistons, when we pulled up the cable, the metal sheets would act like a lever and push against the pistons what if the pistons being pushed back gradually and we parked the car uphill?the cable will be losing the tension and clamping force on the brake pads.I would like to get this solution since it's simplest and cheap if above possibility issue could be eliminated.
