Couldn't have said it better myself Karlos

Really gave em some stick on the way home from work tonight, I don't believe in this "gently run them in" lark, never have done. I've always given a new set of discs and pads a good old hammer once fitted. Some may disagree, just like the old argument of how to run a new engine in, but it works for me.

    Good write up here

Damn,,,,they don't half stop the car though,,,through the windscreen job.

I'm thinking of going with 323mm discs then having 1mm removed by a machine shop. Surely this will give me enough clearance with some heat in the discs. I don't intend to be tracking the car so they won't get a brutal punishment.

I want to keep the brakes inside the 16" Avus rim for winter running - but I don't really want to go down to the 314mm disc if I can avoid it.

      Paul,
I bent my clips. Four track days. Changing out pads from street to track pads and back again. No problems with the brakes, no rattle, stops well, and no problem with the bent retaining pins. Besides, pins are cheap, removing 1 mm from the caliper by a proper machinist, is not cheap. Then you are always stuck with machined caliper

They can have my car when they pry my cold dead fingers from the steering wheel.
