    pad guide pins

on a set of brembo mono blocks, how do you take the pins that the pad slides along off? theres a cellot pin that looks like it may hold it in, but you cant knock this out as it is in a blind hole

    any ideas?

    Hello Will.
I found this out the other month whilst fitting mine by chance really. I'd noticed whilst I had the wheel off to stop a horrible squeal I had (splash plate rubbing against the disc) that mine were very very close to the disc, it had made a very faint mark on the disc surface when they had been hot.
I tried to file them down, but my pants file wasn't biting into the pin at all. so I used that tried and tested method that sometimes work, I knocked em back a bit with a hammer . They seem to be an interference fit in the alloy caliper.
When we did my bro's the other week, he used a vice to press em through the 2mm we wanted.
These were on the front 996's though, those look like the rears???
    They should be the same.

      cheers jas,

they indeed are the rears, just measuring up to make the brackets to fit on the back of mine with aux handbrake caliper, just needed to close the gap up a bit as there wouldnt have been much holding the pad backing when they get low

      regards

        They are kool
Would your rear brake brackets fit the S2 Will?

          Bryan,

It looks like the Wilwood aux caliper.
The 90CQ and the S2 have the same mounts, so I feel the answer is yes.

@Will, you need a bigger disk for looks but this will probably be better from a brake bias point of view. The pad location pins are held in place with small roll pins which are in a blind hole. You could drill them out maybe......

Hmmm , If they are held in with a small roll pin, I never saw it and the pin easily pushed through the caliper
I'm going to take the front wheels off on Saturady to clean the calipers and paint the bells of the disc , so will remove them and have a look, you got me worried now

Perhaps the roll pin is used just to hold the interferance, ie. it doesn't sit in a groove in the pin?
